The Application Process Begins
The annual application process begins. Researchers at any of CAS' partner institutions can apply as a project leader and submit project proposals.

Stage 1
The initial application must include a brief project proposal and a short version of the applicant's CV.
Deadline: mid-January.

Evaluation and Selection
The CAS Board of Directors decides which project proposals will continue to the second round of the application process.

Stage 2
The second-round application must include: a complete description of the project; a brief ethical self-assessment; a complete CV; letters of intent and brief CVs of four core fellows.
Deadline: April.

International Peer Review
Each project proposal is peer-reviewed by three international experts.

Final Selection
The CAS Board of Directors, based on the feedback from the peer-review process, selects three projects that will be invited to spend a year at CAS.

The planning process
The project leaders will have two years to plan their stay at CAS.
