Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the need to monitor and control the spread of infectious diseases using mathematical and statistical modeling tools. In this seminar, Dr. Chowell will introduce key concepts and ideas in infectious disease epidemiology and describe methodologies to develop and apply epidemic models to investigate infectious disease transmission and control with applications to various infectious disease epidemics including influenza and COVID-19.
