Camilla Serck-Hanssen did her PhD at The University of California, San Diego with a thesis on Kant’s understanding of self-consciousness. Her research has focused on a number of aspects of Kant’s philosophy. In recent years her main interest has been in his logic, methodology and metametaphysics and the potential of Kant’s philosophy for topical interdisciplinary debates. Serck-Hanssen is co-founder of the research group ConceptLab at the University of Oslo and Co Leader of the NCR Project Conceptual Engineering (www. xxx -we still wait for a homepage) Serck-Hanssen is also engaged in the impact of philosophy outside of academia. She is deeply involved in ethical councils in the press and military sector and has succeeded in applying basic philosophical research to impact policy making and to set important agendas.
