Frode Kjosavik is Professor of Philosophy at the School of Economics and Business, at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU), where he has held a permanent position since 1999. He has been Visiting Scholar at Stanford University (2008-9) and Harvard University (2009). He was Professor at the Department of Philosophy, Classics, History of Art and Ideas, at the University of Oslo, 2013-14. Apart from philosophy, he has studied mathematics and Nordic languages and literature. He was PhD Fellow at the University of Oslo, 1994-1998. His PhD thesis was on “Anschauung” (“intuition”) in Kant and Husserl. His research interests include general metaphysics and epistemology; history of philosophy; Kant; Husserl; philosophy of perception; general philosophy of science; philosophy of mathematics; philosophy of biology; philosophy of the social sciences.
