Area(s) of Expertise Representation theory, algebraic combinatorics, scattering amplitudes
Hugh Thomas holds a Canada Research Chair in algebra, combinatorics, and theoretical computer science at the Université du Québec à Montréal. He works at the interface between algebraic combinatorics and the representation theory of finite-dimensional algebras. He has recently become interested in the physics of scattering amplitudes, a topic which has suprising connections to his mathematical interests. He is also a poet. Maze, his first solo book, was published by Invisible Publishing in 2019.
