End Report
During the academic year of 1993-94, four international scholars were invited to CAS to participate in our research project on Ibsen’s writings. The scholars came to the Centre to work on their individual projects, and there were no joint collaboration planned other than to discuss each respective project and to give feedback and comments.
The participants also arranged a series of lectures in Oslo, and they were invited to hold talks across different nations.
In the future, anthologies and papers from the research period at CAS will be published. Some of the papers will be published as a joint manuscript, which came to fruition during our stay at the Centre.
Although there was no collaborative project going on at CAS, the stay, with additional funding from the Research Council of Norway, has helped establish an international research community. All participants though the stay was fruitful, and contributed to the extension of their research network. The Norwegian community of Ibsen-researchers has benefitted tremendously from the international group’s stay in Oslo, especially doctoral candidates who had the opportunity to meet with the scholars during the academic year.
The professional outcomes of the year at CAS will be seen in the years to come, both in Norway and internationally.
