End Report

I think it will be right of me to say, on behalf of my project group, that all members have had a prosperous stay at CAS, which we will see concrete evidence of in the coming years. An important element of the stay has been the informal exchange of knowledge between the international scholars from many different institutions and countries.

One of the group member, Roger van den Bergh, who is the president of the European Association of Law and Economics, commended the group’s activities, CAS and The Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters in a speech at the organisation’s annual meeting in Switzerland earlier this fall (1995).

Some of our results has been presented in papers during the annual meetings of the European Economics Association and the European Association of Law and Economics. These and other papers will be published in the future.

Two of the long-term members of the group have been Ph.D. students, and they have during the course of the stay written considerable parts of their thesis.

The daily assistance from the Centre’s administration have been impeccable. In his goodbye-speech, Hans-Bernd Schäfer expressed his thankfulness for Unn Hagen and her ability to do her work efficient and with graciousness, a combination not often seen in his home country. This recognition is well deserved.

At last, I would like to thank the Centre for housing the Law-Economics project and for giving us room to develop our activities as we wanted. I am confident the stay at CAS has provided valuable contributions to research in our field.
